Insanity

Vanyalli

The tree tangles

as the branches

blow safely in

the secure wind.

Coldness seeps through

leaving me defenseless

against the harshness

of the world outside.

Shadows dance

about my room,

Leaving pictures

burned in mind.

My breathing grows shallow

as the night moves on,

My nerves are thinning

my mind is slipping.

The dark plays tricks,

Backing me into

a hidden corner

of the torture room.

I hear the scratching

continuing at me window.

Something is there

but I dare not look.

My sanity wanders

they call me 'unstable'.

As they run tests

looking for diseases

The monstrous music

plays over again.

They can't hear it,

but I can.
