"The advantage of a classical education is that it enables you to despise the wealth that it prevents you from achieving."
-Russell Green
My name's Quinn. I'm a 20 year old college student from the Midwest of the US of A. My favorite genres to write are comedy, satire, and dark comedy. My current favorite book is Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. It changed my writer's world like no other book I've ever read before.
At the moment, I'm reading A Passage to India by E. M. Forster. Since school's started, I probably won't finish it until the new year . . .
For all you aspiring writers out there: read Reading Like a Writer by Francine Prose. It's the best writing guide I've ever read because, instead of giving a set of rules, it gives you excerpts from great literature and lets you do the thinking - it teaches you to train your mind to look for the elements of literature that makes them stand the test of time.
~ Visit my writing journal for more specifics on my progress--or to see me mess around with words in exercises, ponder random things, etc.
~ I also have a new journal dedicated to the columns I write for Western Illinois University's newspaper.
